Praying Through Pre-Adoption Day 23

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
~Psalm 23

I read an adoptive mama's blog post over the past couple of weeks that spoke of a common thread among Christian families beginning their adoption process.

It seems that frequently, families will have a sort of financial crisis--unexpected bills, vehicle maintenance, loss of a job, home repairs, medical expenses, etc.

Today, we are joining together in prayer for us to fear no evil. To find comfort in God.

Because unfortunately, we have experienced this exact scenario.

Praise God, it is with my job, not Colin's. I am a music therapist--I will not go into detail, but my main contract agency has been rapidly cutting many of my clients due to budget and 'restructuring the company'. While I am praying they will not get rid of my position completely, I do not know when I will be able to receive any new referrals from them.

I am uncertain as to how I will proceed. I am currently considering options and praying, praying, praying. If you would, please pray God would give me guidance.

One thing is for certain: this attack is NOT stopping us from proceeding with our adoption! No way.

Prayer: Jesus, please put a shield of protection over Colin and me through our adoption. Let us find comfort in your embrace, and let us give our worries to You. You called us to this adoption--it is your plan, and You will provide a way. Lead us to your cross, where You pour out your love in abundance. Guide us through our adoption, and help us to glorify You through it!

  1. Oh girl, I am so sorry you lost your job! So thankful that you aren't letting that stop you from continuing with your adoption, though!!

    Praying for you...and it is so true that this happens to so many families that follow the call to adopt. Satan likes to attack the world changers, that's for sure.

    Much love, chica.
