Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no commandment greater than these.
~Mark 12:30-31
It is day 30 of our journey of praying for our adoption!
Colin and I committed to focusing our prayers on our adoption for the month of April. We have been called to turn in our application May 1st.
Tomorrow!
Can I get a hallelujah?!
Since making a decision to adopt from Ethiopia back in August 2011 (the day Colin said, "It is time!"), we have been busy researching, spreading the news, fundraising, and saving.
Nine months later, we are going to be turning in our official application and beginning our paperwork process, God willing!
It has been such a blessing taking a month to pray for people who have been or will be involved in our adoption, pray for concerns we have, pray for orphans, pray for the birthparents, and today, especially, pray for our children!
We know we have two precious children that will be taking their first breaths in Ethiopia. We don't know who their birthparents will be or what their circumstances will be. But, we love them already.
So. Much.
We want to pray so hard that their time in Ethiopia is safe.
That they are loved.
That they are healthy.
That they are fed.
That they are clothed.
That they are held.
That the eyes looking back at them make them feel cherished, protected.
We are beginning our adventure toward you, babies. Mommy and daddy love you and cannot wait to love on you.
May the praying continue!
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for our 30-day prayer journey. We have learned so much about you and your plan for us. Please watch over our adoption. Please watch over our children's birthparents. Please watch over our children. Please. I pray they all know they are loved by an Almighty God. I pray they all know they are loved by us. We love YOU so much, Lord. Thank you! Amen.
Hallelujah!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you both can't sleep tonight with excitement! I am thrilled as you submit paperwork and can't wait for the journey to "officially" begin. :-)
