Praying Through Pre-Adoption Day 22

Let us draw near to God

with a sincere heart

in full assurance of faith,

having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience

and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,

for he who promised is faithful.

~Hebrews 9:22-23

Four conditions are given for drawing "near to God":

1- a sincere heart

2- full assurance of faith

3- hearts sprinkled from a guilty conscience

4- bodies washed with pure water

I want to focus my prayers on the second condition today--full assurance of faith.

Faith is built on confidence and trust without evidence.

Oh, faith is difficult!

Especially when we have been hurt in life. Damaged from wanting something so bad and not getting it when we wanted it. Bruised from not knowing God's plan for us. Pained by infertility.

But God is leading us with cords of kindness and ties of love! (Hosea 11:4)

Our plan was not His plan. We are clinging to faith in our beautiful God on His beautiful journey!

Our God is a faithful God!

Prayer: Jesus, help us to hold unswervingly to hope in You and your promises. Give us full assurance of faith. Let us believe even when we cannot see. We do not deserve your faithfulness, and yet you pour it upon as anyway. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear, and a faith so strong!
